Remote Play Tutorial for Android

You can now remote play on and Android device other than the Z3.

Thanks to the hard work from everyone on XDA you can get it working on your non Sony device.

Here is a YouTube video that details how to push the files to your device to get this working.

YOU NEED ANDROID 4.4.4 and must be able to remove root / hide root on your device.

Below is the video:

Here is the URL for the files needed: HERE

Here is the text based guide from Wesley32 on XDA.

Starting out,
  • 1) I would go ahead and Force Stop the PS App, as well as uninstall it. (This is, of course, only if you have it installed before this.)
    2) Download this APK
    3) Open up File Manager of your choice, Copy/Move the .apk you just downloaded into the '/System/App/ ' Directory on your phone.
    4) Change the Permission of that .apk to RW-R-R

    5) Download this .dex and Move/Copy it to the '/Data/Dalvik-Cache ' Directory. Same as above you need to change permissions to RW-R-R.

    6) Download these two xml files: onetwo. Now, move/copy these two files to the '/System/etc/permissions/ ' Directory. Once again, change the permissions to... RW-R-R.

    7) okay, now for the important files, .jar's, if you know java lol. File oneFile Two

After you download those two files, once again, More copy/moving. Copy these two files to the '/System/Framework/ ' Directory. After they have been successfully copied them, change the permissions to RW-R-R.

    8) Now, Reboot!

    9) Go to play store download PS App.

    10) Go back to the location where you downloaded the Remote Play .apk and click the .apk to install like normal. Now, the installation should finish. Great.

Update, if you moved the remote play .apk from step 3, then just go to the /System/app directory and click on the .apk file from there. You just need to open the Install prompt and install the app for the force close to dissipate.

    11) go back into PS App, and under the 'Connect to PS4' you should now see a Remote Play button to the right.

    12) Clicking it should open the Remote Play app, if you get the Error 8800.... whatever, Then you need to uninstall SuperSU or whatever the app is that controls your Root Permissions.

I know in SuperSU, I used the option, "Reinstall - Cleanup for reinstallation from Google Play" and then just never reinstalled, until I need root again.

Hopefully this helps some people.

Impossible Creepy Photos

Hero Cat

Amazing video of a cat saving a kid from a dog attack.

The best thing is, why does the mother run over to him, and then runs of leaving the child on the floor? Surely you would be getting your child indoors away from it?

Either way, I wish I had cats like that near me all the time to fend off CHAVS and their scally dogs.

Wasted Gifs

I don't want to say too much as it will spoil the surprise but.....

GTA fans must have a look at this over on Reddit.

Sony Wireless Stereo Headset 2.0 Gold and remote play

Here's a quick video I made about using the wireless headset while playing PS4 via remote play.

It should also be noted that this was filmed on the moto g and is an example of how good (or not as the case may be) the camera is.

Although advertised on the box that virtual surround doesn't work it does work if what ever you plug it into supports it.

For example I have VSS on my Moto G via the app described in the video above and it works great.

What makes a 'great gamer'?

It's a question I have pondered a few times.

I mean how do you measure a great gamer from a bad gamer. For example I quite often sit at work and hear people saying, "My kill / death ratio is 2.6!!!!" Or, "I rage quit on some dick head to teach him a lesson."

Both examples of bad gamers in my opinion but to others they seem to laugh at the rage quit or sit in awe of the amazing k/d ratio.

Is it the person who plays one game like CoD of Fifa all day and is a master who is the great gamer? Is it trophy or achievement hunter who prides 100% in everything they do? Is it the lover of all games no matter what age group? Or is is simply a combination of all of these things?

GTA Stunts

Saw these the other day and thought they were wort ha mention!

PSVITA Remote Play Problems

So, I've been searching the net for weeks now trying to find out what is causing the problem I have with remote play but for the most part never really see what other peoples problems are.

For example people just mention lag and connection problems but never go into detail and so I have made the below video to show the issue I have.

As you can see there is a connection error that occurs making it impossible to get into gaming on it because at crucial parts it will crap out and you have to put it down and let it settle before carrying on.

I have tried everything I have read up on. PS4 is connected by ethernet, necessary ports are open, DMZ is active on PS4, all wifi connections have been of when testing, this happens on both direct connection and through router, power save setting is off on VITA and yes I know this needs to be unchecked due to the engrish that is used,  i have uses wifi analyser on my phone to pick the est channel on my vita and the ps4, router and vita are all on different channels with strong signal.

As the video shows I am sat about 1.5 meters from my PS4 and this issue exists so distance isn't the problem either.

I have tried EVERYTHING!!! Does anybody know of any good solutions to this?

I am going to try and borrow another vita to see if the issue is vita hardware related but I hope not!!
