This strawberry looks weirdly like a chicken

BWAAAAAARK!

That’s the noise we’d expect this strawberry to make – as it looks freakily like a chicken.

But it isn’t the work of some talented food artist, the resemblance is entirely natural.

There’s a head, wings, and even a leafy beak.

It was found at Grove Farm in Bonnyrigg, near Edinburgh, when farmers Reuben and April Welch were harvesting their strawberry plants for the summer.

NASA Finds Mystery 'Pyramid' On Dwarf Planet

Scientists are investigating a mysterious, pyramid-shaped mountain on the surface of Ceres.

The triangular peak was spotted by NASA's Dawn spacecraft as it orbited 2,700 miles above the distant dwarf planet.

The mountain towers three miles above Ceres' flat surface - more than half the height of Everest.

"Curiouser & curiouser. @NASA_Dawn sees pyramid-shaped peak," NASA tweeted after taking images of the mystery mountain.

As the craft gets closer to Ceres - the largest object in the main asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter - more and more features are beginning to reveal themselves.

Samsung accused of disabling Microsoft security updates

Samsung has been accused of disabling Microsoft's software in preference for its own, leaving computers insecure.

Microsoft technical expert Patrick Barker said he had found Samsung software downloading and running a file called Disable_Windowsupdate.exe, while helping a user with a computer problem.

He said "a few Samsung-manufactured computer systems" were affected.

Samsung said it was just giving customers the choice about running Windows software.

"It is not true that we are blocking a Windows 8.1 operating system update on our computers," Samsung said in a statement.

"As part of our commitment to consumer satisfaction, we are providing our users with the option to choose if and when they want to update the Windows software on their products."

According to Samsung, the SW update allows users "to download the newest drives, updates and software for your Windows PC".

Man Buys Fallout 4 PipBoy Edition with Bottle Caps

Ahhh.... Bottle Caps.

The currency everyone speaks in Fallout.
The Bottle Caps

Well guess what?! Someone has been saving up their beloved bottle caps for 7.5 years and wrote to Bethesda in the hope of securing a copy of Fallout.

Most people laughed this off around the web but the idea has actually paid off.

Bethesda have confirmed that they will honor this and give the guy a copy of the game.

Below is the copy of the letter that is nothing short of genius:

So who says bottle caps aren't real currency.

Hats of to Bethesda on this one!

Driveclub PS+ Edition Finally Available

Sony have finally dropped the Driveclub PS+ Edition on the Playstation Store.

While I can't complain at the fact it is free, I have to say the wait has been nothing short of terrible and I have personally lost all interest in this one.

To make matters worse at the time of writing this the PSN is having woefully slow download times so it looks like Sony just want you to wait that extra bit longer......

I've started this downloading but given that driving games aren't my favorite genre I can't see it lasting long eating up valuable space.

Also the fact that most of the free DLC is only compatible with the purchased version and not the PS+ Edition is pretty poor.

Strange Lights in the Sky Freak Out Cyclist

A cyclist has captured a strange light in the clouds that looked like a giant was flashing a torch in the heavens.

Of course that’s impossible, so it was probably aliens.

Or it could have been a strange weather phenomenon.

‘A lightning discharge in a thundercloud can temporarily change the electric field above the cloud where charged ice crystals were reflecting sunlight,’ the apod.nasa.gov website said while talking about a similar video.

‘The new electric field quickly re-orients the geometric crystals to a new orientation that reflects sunlight differently.’

The cyclist who recorded the clip in Greenwood, Indiana, seemed really shocked, although we’re not quite sure why.

The YouTube video was uploaded by NomadFreeman.

Man gets naked, pours milk on himself and runs through supermarket

A man got naked, poured milk on himself and then ran through a supermarket screaming that he was on fire, police said.

Police were informed of a YouTube video that was taken at a branch of Walmart in Kentucky during the week.

In the video, a man wearing nothing but a mask, white socks and black trainers grabs two containers of milk and pours them over his head before running through the aisles of the supermarket screaming that he’s on fire.

‘Well the first question I would have is why?’ Pike County Sheriff Rodney Scott told FOX2Now.

‘Why would he want to do that? They can go to jail and they will go to jail.’

Police have made no arrests yet, though warrants are out for the streaker and his cameraman.

The Walking Dead Bad Lip Reading....

More fun from Bad Lip Reading on YouTube.

Falcon SMS for Android

Falcon SMS is an ergonomic SMS app by XDA user TimboMachimbo that is fast, smooth and fully-featured. It is completely free with no ads, and comes with a nice quick-reply option, custom notification settings, a tablet UI in landscape mode and a lot of customizations.

The app’s developer is active and listens to feature requests, so this app will probably only get better from here on out. There is no shortage of SMS apps, but good ones don’t come every day. This one looks promising, and with with a theme engine, delayed sending and tabbed conversations allegedly coming, its promises look good!

The thread can be found here.

Mystery Of Globe-Trotting Cat

The mysterious case of a travelling ginger cat has puzzled those who found him wandering around a back yard in Northern Ireland.

Ozzie the cat was found in County Armagh and picked up by the local Cats Protection centre as a stray.

When his microchip was checked, they were shocked to find he had been registered in Australia - 10,500 miles away - as Tigger in 2000.

It also revealed he had been born in 1989, making him 25 years old. The average age of a cat is around 15 years.

Volunteers are unable to explain how the intrepid traveller, described as "a gentle affectionate cat", wound up in Northern Ireland.

It is possible he was taken to London by his owner, where he was seen by a vet clinic in 2004 as a stray, before somehow crossing the Irish Sea to Northern Ireland.

Gillian McMullen, co-ordinator of the Armagh Branch of Cats Protection, said she was called by a member of the public who was worried about a "poorly stray cat that had been hanging around her garden for several days".

She said: "The poor cat was starving but obviously had been cared for in the past because it was wearing a collar."

Officially the PSVITA is dead

Sony exec Shuhei Yoshida has confirmed at E3 that no more AAA titles will be released on PSVITA.

He did stress though that they will still support Indie titles and that Remote Play will be highly regarded in it's future.

Given that you can play remote play on any 4.0+ Android Device the need for a Vita for Remote Play is even less.

My problem with this is while some Indie games are amazing, it isn't the reason I bought a Vita, I bought it for games like Uncharted and Killzone, and I was surprised by how awesome Gravity Rush was.

I also enjoyed the Assassins Creed outing provided by Ubisoft, but this now seems to be a thing of the past.

This, Playstation Move / Eye Toy, 3D gaming on Playstation and more recently the PS4 Camera are the reason I wont be getting Morpheus for at least a couple of years after release (if at all).

It will turn out to be nothing more than a gimmick that Sony will simply stop supporting shortly after its over hyped release as all of the above have met this demise.

Dishonored 2 -- Official E3 2015 Announce Trailer

I will admit I've not got round to playing the first one but I know this game was highly regarded in the gaming community. Here is the Dishonored 2 E3 trailer.

Marvel, Sony and Paramount All Skipping Comic-Con

San Diego’s lucrative fanboy convention will be missing some key players next month: MarvelStudios, home of the Avengers, won’t be dressing up for Comic-Con while Sony Pictures and Paramount Pictures have also decided to skip the Hall H presentations.

“It wasn’t a knock against Comic-Con,” one spokesperson explains, “the film cycles just didn’t allow it.”

Sony and Paramount just didn’t have the fanboy material to promote, said sources, while Marvel, which last missed the confab in 2011, already unveiled its new wave of Avengers at a special fan event in October.

Plus, cost of sending a number of movies to Comic-Con can also set back a studio a few hundred thousand dollars, so “why force the issue?,” one exec asks.

Disney is expected to showcase its upcoming slate, which includes sequels for “Pirates of the Caribbean” and “Finding Nemo,” at the company’s D23 Expo later this summer.

But don’t expect Tony Stark or Jack Sparrow to ruin the party in Hall H: In addition to the new “Star Wars” and final “Hunger Games,” fans could see the rumored coming-out party for Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment’s Justice League, which features Batman, Superman, the Flash and Aquaman, among other surprises.

Also expected are 20th Century Fox’s “Fantastic Four” and quite possibly a few “X-Men.”

The 46th edition of Comic-Con will be held July 9-12 at the San Diego Convention Center.

Children’s camp forced to change monument because it looks like genitals

One of the most evolved traits of human beings is our ability to spot phalluses in everyday objects… we assume.

That might be why an installation at at children’s camp has been altered because locals have pointed out how much it resembles male genitalia.

The innocent creation of the giant sausage and bread roll was intended to celebrate the local food known as a ‘kovbasa’.

However rather than show a respect for the local Crimean delicacy, visitors to the park have instead been left in fits of giggles due to the monument.

Officials have now decided to discretely remove part of the scene to make it slightly less X-rated.

By taking out the bread role (which people said resembled a testicle to the phallus-like sausage) they hope to have rid the scene of it’s childish humour.

This is the happiest photo in the world

What do you think of this photo? Did it make you smile?

Of course it did – science tells us so.

That’s right, the ‘happiest photo in the world’ has been found via a poll, and a psychologist can
explain exactly what about this photo will make an estimated 71 per cent of people who look at it smile.

Dr Simon Moore tells us exactly what will make your Facebook friends ‘lol’ and what will leave them ‘meh’ about the photos your share.

Dr Moor says: ‘The unexpected element in this shot, and our response to it, may help to explain why photo-bombing has become such a popular trend – it results in an unexpected emotional experience.

‘Sudden ‘nice’ surprises are good as psychologically we feel we got more than we were expecting.’

Melissa Brandts and her husband Jackson took the squirrel photo in 2009, and submitted it to the survey commissioned by Coca-Cola for their #choosehappiness campaign.

PS4 remote play on Tesco Hudl 2

Here I demo how well Remote Play works on the Hudl 2. This will work on most 4.0+ Android devices.

Samsung Releases 16 New Themes on the Theme Store

The launch of the S6 and S6 Edge back in March saw the latest version of Touchwiz being released alongside the devices, with some serious effort put into it this time around, in a bid to move away from the notorious reputation Samsung’s Android skin has gained over the past few years. Memory efficiency and decreased bloatware were the obvious fixes, but Samsung went above and beyond, adding features that end users actually needed. One of them is the homebrewed Theme Store that allows users to style their device using a multitude of themes from the store.

Despite the store containing a handful of themes in its infancy, the collection has been growing ever since, with Samsung releasing a bunch of new themes every so often and even bringing third-party designers on board. Today saw sixteen new themes hit the Theme Store, increasing the multitude of styles available.

Millions let down by broadband speed ads, says Which?

Up to three-quarters of UK households are still not getting the top broadband speeds promised by advertisements, according to consumer watchdog Which?

Up to 15.4 million households were paying for packages with advertised maximum speeds they would not achieve, a report suggests.

Ofcom has begun a broadband crackdown, making it easier for people to swap providers if they are unhappy with the speed of their service.

But Which? said more needed to be done.

Its tests also suggested that only 17% of homes were achieving the average advertised speed, with even fewer during peak evening times.

The problem was particularly bad in rural areas where 98% of homes were unable to get the advertised headline speed of the broadband service they had chosen.

"We want Ofcom to ensure consumers get the speeds promised by providers," said Which? executive director Richard Lloyd.

Top Gear: Auditions To Be Held For Co-Host

Chris Evans is to hold auditions to find a co-host to join him on Top Gear and is asking members of the public with a passion for cars to put themselves forward.

He told viewers on BBC1's One Show last night: "Male, female, old, young, it doesn't matter. The one thing that does matter is you've got to have a real appetite for cars, and you've got to know something about cars.

"The way James (May) and Richard (Hammond) were found was by auditioning, so we are going to hold auditions, not just for famous people, for people who are watching the show."

Anyone who wants to appear on the show must make a short video, lasting no longer than 30 seconds, to post on a website.

The website address will be released on Friday morning.

Good News! Chocolate is good for you!

New research has added to tentative evidence that eating chocolate in modest quantities may be good for the heart.

Scientists in Britain looked at data from nearly 21,000 people who filled out questionnaires about their lifestyle and had their health monitored for more than 11 years.

Their average daily consumption was seven grams (0.25 ounces) of chocolate, ranging from none to 100g.

The top fifth of chocolate-eaters were 12% less likely to develop heart disease and 23% less likely to suffer a stroke compared with the bottom fifth of consumers, the researchers found.

The study, published in the British journal Heart, noted that most consumers of the confectionary ate milk chocolate, not dark chocolate which famously has a higher percentage of protective molecules called flavonoids.

“This may indicate that not only flavonoids but also other compounds, possibly related to milk constituents such as calcium and fatty acids, may provide an explanation for the observed association,” it said.

The team, headed by Phyo Myint of the University of Aberdeen in Scotland, admitted the probe had limitations.

Someone just tried to rob a bank with a ‘bomb’ made from a sex toy

A man has robbed a bank using a homemade ‘bomb’ made out of a sex toy and a mobile phone.

So far so random.

When the man told cashiers at PNC Bank in Pittsburgh that the suspicious-looking item trailing tape and wires he had hidden under his shirt was a bomb, they handed over the cash before calling 911.

When police eventually caught up with Aaron Stein and placed him under arrest they sent in a bomb-disposal robot to deal with the suspected explosive device, only to find it was made out of a vibrator.

The 35-year-old reportedly created his pretend bomb out of a box, some tape, a mobile phone cord and a dildo.

He now faces the rare charge of ‘possessing a facsimile weapon of mass destruction’.

Star Wars Battlefront Is Finally Coming

Looks like gamers are going to have a busy back end of 2015, thanks to an avalanche of new games, with EA also getting into the action.

At E3 a video has been dropped that shows the co-op gameplay and I have to say it's looking very impressive.

Star Wars Battlefront is coming 17th November 2015 on Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC.

Finally the PS4 has a media player!

When you next turn on your PS4 you will be treated to the option to download a new media player! At long last!

This has been a majorly requested feature and Sony have been listening.

Taken from the Playstation blog:

A Media Player icon will appear in the PS4 content area, simply select the icon and you will be taken to the PS Store where you can begin the download.

The Media Player works with both your home server and when plugging a USB stick with media into one of the available ports on the PS4.

Your home server will appear as a media option in the player automatically and finding your media is simple and quick. You may also simply enjoy music as background music on your PS4!

Playstation gains Call of Duty "Exclusive Multiplayer Beta"

And by exclusive I mean - first dibs.

Of course the beta wont take long to drop on other consoles so it's nothing to get over excited about.

Interestingly though it looks like the PS4 will be getting the map packs before the Xbox.

Looks like Microsoft has lost its tight grip on the franchise.

Check the multiplayer trailer revel below. I lost my passion for CoD a while back but this trailer does make it look damn good!

The Last Guardian Appears at E3

Despite many gamer suggesting The Last Guardian would be a no show at E3, Sony have revealed it in all it's glory.

This game looks to be a  technical marvel in the graphics department, but will it play as good as it looks?

Only time will tell. Check the gameplay footage after the break.

I'm on the fence with this one. Not sure if it's my type of game but no doubt I will give it a shot.

Nathan Drake Wows for Sony at E3

Naught Dog have wowed E3 again with the latest adventure for Nathan Drake. Uncharted: A Thief's End.

As A massive fan of Drake and his antics I have to say I am really looking forward to this one!

This really shows off the power of the PS4 as you can see in the trailer.

This wasn't the only showing that Drake got. There is also a full demo of the game and it simply looks amazing.

In the below I like the little touches like when he bumps the guy in the crowd and apologises.

Also when the washing line snags the truck and gets dragged along later on. It just shows off the little touches that Naughty Dog never fail to miss.

Check the full E3 demo after the break.

Game of Thrones finale leaves fans shocked

Fans of Game of Thrones have been left stunned after one of its biggest characters was killed off in the season five finale.

The episode saw Jon Snow, played by British actor Kit Harington, murdered by men of the Night's Watch.

The final scene saw Snow's young protege Olly deliver the final blow, with a lifeless Lord
Commander left lying in the snow.

Variety described it as "one of the most shocking TV moments of the year".

Fans expressed hope that Harington would return in the next series, but speaking to Entertainment Weekly he said: "I'm dead. I'm not coming back next season."

Oculus and Xbox create virtual reality tie-up

Oculus VR has shown off the version of its virtual reality headset that will be sold to consumers, and revealed it will come with an Xbox One controller.

The Facebook-owned company also revealed it is working on its own handheld controller system called Oculus Touch.

The Rift headset will be released early next year. Until now, only a "developer" version had been sold.

It will compete with rival VR headsets such as Sony's Morpheus and HTC's Vive.

Google has made a more basic entry into the market with its Cardboard product, which uses a person's smartphone to create a VR effect.

The deal with Microsoft means Oculus owners will be able to stream Xbox One games to the headset and see them as if they are being viewed on a huge "home cinema" screen.

Microsoft's gaming boss Phil Spencer made a surprise appearance at the event to introduce the partnership.

Xbox One console to run old 360 games

Old Xbox 360 games will be playable on the newer Xbox One console, Microsoft has announced at the E3 games show.

It has developed technology that lets the older games run on the new console "natively".
E3

Microsoft said Xbox One owners will not have to pay again to play the games that they already owned.

100 titles will be available to play when the feature launches at Christmas but "hundreds" more will be available soon after.

The titles will show up automatically in a player's games library when they became available, it said.
Mod making

The press conference also saw Bethesda Studios give some details about the version of Fallout 4 it is creating for the Microsoft's console.

Player-made add-ons, or mods, for the PC version of the game will be able to run on the Xbox One as well, said Todd Howard, game director at Bethesda.

Also announced was a version of Minecraft that has been revamped to run on Microsoft's augmented reality headset HoloLens. The new version turns the flat world into an interactive environment that can be explored in depth. Owners of the original game will be able to join in multiplayer Minecraft sessions seen via the HoloLens.

Jurassic World's Roaring Success At Box Office

Jurassic World, the fourth film in the series that began with Jurassic Park, has gobbled up the competition to score the biggest worldwide box office opening weekend ever.

It pulled in $511m (£329m) globally as it opened in cinemas, according to box office tracker
Exhibitor Relations - eclipsing Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 2 ($483m in 2011).

The unprecedented haul for the blockbuster, which has had largely good reviews, was boosted by the $100m earned in China alone and it topped the box office in 66 countries.

In North America, the film made $204.6m, just short of the record for an opening weekend in the region, held by Marvel's The Avengers ($207m in 2012).

Co-produced by Steven Spielberg, who directed the first two of the four films, Jurassic World returns to the island theme park where scientists first revived T-Rex and other dinosaurs for paying customers over 20 years ago.

Does this explain more than 50 reported UFO sightings in Texas last month?

There have been more than 56 reports of UFO sightings in Texas in the last month alone.
Lenticular clouds

The spate of sightings caused alarm in the state last month, but some boffins reckon they’ve got it sussed out.

Meteorologists have so far disproved theories of a little green men invasion, explaining the sightings are down to something far less exciting: clouds.

Yep, Texans are mistaking clouds for flying saucers. Bless their cottons.

Unusual circular clouds which vanish almost as rapidly as they appear have been repeatedly spotted in the sky over the large southern state.

The round formations are actually ‘lenticular clouds’, which are created when warm moist air is thrust rapidly towards a barrier such as a mountain or even a much cooler area.

Refusing to give up on the thought of alien life, a sighting was filed on the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) of a circular cloud which they suggested was evidence of a ‘cloaked’ UFO.

Fallout 4 given a release date

Looks like Bethesada has treated us to not just some fresh gameplay from Fallout 4, but also a release date.

Yes a release date! The day to pencil into your diaries is 10th November 2015. After much speculation of a 31st December release was dismissed as a "place holder" by the gaming community it looks like we will get our hands on the game sooner than we thought.

Anyway enough waffle.... onto the video.

Phantom Of The Opera Lamb

This strange-looking sheep baa-res an uncanny resemblance to The Phantom of the Opera - because it was born with a two-tone face.

And he's become an unlikely tourist attraction, with people flocking to see his unusual markings, which have earned him the nickname, The Phantom.

Farmer Paul Phillips, 50, was stunned when the lamb was born with one half of his face black and the other white - just like Michael Crawford's famous character.

He believes the sheep - which he decided to nickname The Phantom - has a recessive gene which has led to the unusual face markings.

Local resident Amy Walker 20, took a picture of the unique lamb while she was walking near the farm in Kimbolton, Herefordshire, earlier this week.

Chris Hemsworth to play Ghostbuters receptionist!

Thor the Receptionist
It looks like the new Ghostbusters movie has found a receptionist.

Chris Hemsworth, everyone's favourite Thor, is reported to have accepted the role as the receptionist.

This is either a smart move, or a really, really bad one.

I could just be being a bit harsh because I loved the original movies and the thought of replacing the entire original cast for a reboot scares me.

I'm sure he will pull in a large female audience to the film so perhaps this is just very good marketing for the movie.

Only time will tell.

Remote Play on any 4.0+ Android Device

twisted89 is still doing some sterling work on making PS4 Remote Play available to everyone
running Android 4.0 and up.

Another update has dropped on 12/06/2015 which fixes a few bugs.

There is also a 1.4 beta test for native pad support. I have been running Remote Play on my Hudl 2 now for some time and I play Disney Infinity with my daughter when we can't have access to the TV.
It runs flawlessly for the most part and i have no complaints as it allows me to play on a larger 8" screen instead of being forced to use my Vita.

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection Announced

Another announcement has arrived that was obviously going to happen lately! Uncharted - The Nathan Drake Collection.

The Playstation website reads: Discover the Man. Uncover a Legend. Purchase UNCHARTED: The Nathan Drake Collection and get exclusive access to the UNCHARTED 4: A Thief’s End Multiplayer Beta.

The question is will people want to buy them all again? I think the answer will be YES! Keep an eye on the site for more details as they are revealed, but in the meantime here is the teaser trailer.

Fallout 4 Trailer

After a near 5 year wait Bethesda has treated us to the Fallout 4 trailer.

While I have read a few website stating their disappointment with what has been put on show here I have to disagree.

After ploughing 100s of hours into Fallout 3, and a lesser time in New Vegas (I have to admit I was slightly disappointed in New Vegas, especially the constant crashing) I feel I am in a good position to say what Bethesda has treated us to is remarkable.

Can't wait to see what happens at E3 with further announcements from Bethesda. Hopefully we will see some live action.
